Kathy Baldock author, LGBTQ advocate, and founder of Canyonwalker Connections, based in Reno, NV, is a leading expert on the historical and current discrimination against the LGBTQ community, in particular from the socially conservative Christian church and political sectors.
Her first book, Walking the Bridgeless Canyon: Repairing the Breach Between the Church and the LGBT Community pieces together cultural and religious LGBTQ persecution and discrimination of the LGBTQ community. She is currently completing her second, much-anticipated book based on original research as to the origins of the word “homosexual” and it first usage in the RSV Bible in 1946. “Forging a Sacred Weapon: How the Bible became Anti-Gay” will be published in Fall 2023. Baldock is one of the researchers featured in the much acclaimed documentary 1946: The Mistranslation that Shifted a Culture” which is currently in the film festival stage on its way to online streaming.
